Sunday afternoon saw 65 members and friends attend the annual club BBQ at Malshanger. With the event having been moved from Saturday to accommodate that day a game with Thatcham who could not make the Sunday (in the event they cried off on Saturday), attendance was a little down on previous years, in part no doubt to it being Fathers Day. Nonetheless, all present had an enjoyable afternoon. The BBQ as usual came from Smiffy's Meals on Wheels, so ably manned by Martin and Terry, whilst Margaret and her ladies provided the side dishes and sweets and Jocky kept us well watered. Our thanks go to them all and to the Social Committe, (particularly Ric who acted as MC) who organised the event. Thanks go also to the kind members who donated the sausages and burgers, thus helping significantly to the financial success of the event with several hundred pounds being raised for club funds. As the afternoon drew to a close the rain arrived and we all had to take shelter in the Malshanger Clubhouse whilst President Mary handed out raffle and other prizes and paid tribute to all who had supported the event and worked so hard to make it a success.
