To allow for the ongoing restoration project at the Almonry, the Council’s contractor will be erecting scaffolding around the building from week commencing 14th June 2021 for a period of two weeks.

In order to do this, and in accordance with East Sussex Highway’s advice, there will be a lorry parked on Battle High Street while the scaffolding poles are safely unloaded and erected. The scaffolding contractors have agreed to avoid peak hours so the vehicle will arrive after 9.15am and leave by 3pm. During these hours, there will be a contractors representative to assist and direct pedestrians.

Due to the limited access to the Almonry, there is not an alternative access route that could be used to unload the scaffolding. Battle Town Council and Vulcan Ellis (the main contractors) apologise in advance for the inconvenience caused by this and confirm that efforts are being made to limit the disruption to residents for as short a time as possible.
