Fantastic weekend for Shifnal Bowling Club

The Club would like to extend its sincere thanks to all our members and volunteers who gave their time, energy and support to help make two high-profile events such a tremendous success.

On Saturday 12th September, Shifnal Bowling Club had the honour and privilege of hosting the SCGBA County Cup Final. It was a wonderful occasion for the Club, and we were delighted to welcome two outstanding teams for such an important fixture in the bowling calendar.

Hosting an event of this stature takes a considerable amount of preparation and teamwork, both before the day and behind the scenes throughout it. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who played their part in ensuring that the Club and its facilities were presented at their very best and that our visitors received the warm Shifnal welcome of which we are so proud.

The weekend’s activities continued on Sunday, with another hugely successful occasion — Quiz Night, hosted by Shifnal War Memorial.

The evening was a full house and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended. There was plenty of fun, friendly competition and, it has to be said, more than a few challenging questions to keep everyone thinking!

Most importantly, the evening raised much-needed funds for the Club, making its success all the more worthwhile.

The Directors and Management Committee would like to offer their sincere thanks to Bob Haddon and the Seniors for their zest and alacrity in organising what proved to be a truly fantastic evening. Their enthusiasm, hard work and commitment were evident throughout and helped make the event such a memorable success.

Weekends such as this remind us that the strength of Shifnal Bowling Club lies not simply in what happens on the green, but in the wonderful community of people who give their time so generously to support it.

To every member, volunteer, organiser and supporter who contributed over the weekend ... Thank You.
