Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels are still responding to the rain experienced throughout Thursday. Flooding to low lying land and roads remains possible today, Friday 15 January, lasting into the evening as river levels are continuing to rise in the Hawley area. River levels around Westerham and Otford have fallen but remain higher than normal around Otford, and some flooding may remain in lower lying areas along the River Darent. The weather forecast is expected to be dry today, but rain during Saturday could cause river levels to stay high and rise again leading to some continuing or repeated flooding. We will be closely monitoring the situation and have staff prepared to respond if required. Please avoid contact with flood water and remain aware of your local conditions. This message will be updated by 9pm today.
