It was good to welcome the Mixed County team to our Club to help celebrate our Golden Anniversary.

Before the match started we held a Spider, which was won by Nigel Walker.
The main match then began. Mary Whieldon, the Ladies' County President, Peter Vale Humphreys, the Men's County President, and their team played a well fought match, which Solihull Municipal managed to win by 98 to 95(3 rinks to 2 with one Drawn). This was a brilliant win in our special year. Well done team.
Our best winning rink. was myself, Ken Osborne, Bob Barnes, and Nigel Walker who each received a 50th Anniversary pen. These much sought after pens were also presented to each of our County guests.
During the proceedings our President, reminisced on how this annual match began with his sister Liz who was the Ladies' County President at the time. He also mentioned the continuing development of Solihull Municipal Bowls Club, which was very pleasing to hear in these uncertain times.
It was a very good afternoon of bowls, with enjoyable company to help celebrate our 50th Anniversary. A time to remember.
A donation was made, on behalf of our Club, to Mary's Meals (Ladies' County President's Charity) and Shakespeare Hospice (the Men's County President's Charity) which were warmly received and much appreciated.
