🐦 From Emergency Care to a New Home – Joey’s Journey

Today is a very special day at Northern Fenix Parrot Rescue, as Joey the budgie has officially left us for his new home. 💙🐦

Joey’s journey with Northern Fenix has certainly not been straightforward.

Joey originally came into our care before Northern Fenix officially became a registered charity. After previously being placed in another home, Joey returned to us on 27 August 2026, requiring urgent attention after his wing began bleeding.

An emergency veterinary visit was arranged that evening, and Joey then remained in our care while his wing was allowed to heal properly.

Following quarantine, continued monitoring and veterinary care, Joey attended his final veterinary check on 23 September, where we received the news we had been hoping for — his wing had healed and he was officially given the all-clear. ❤️

And today, just two days later, Joey has started the next chapter of his life.

Seeing a bird arrive needing help and eventually watching him leave healthy, happy and ready for his new home is exactly why Northern Fenix exists.

We would like to wish Joey and his new family every happiness together. We’ll certainly miss this little character, but today is what rescue is all about. 💙

Where old life ends and new life begins. ❤️🐦
