This week saw a number of members spending a very enjoyable four nights at the Dorset Bowls Resort in a group of 34 led by ex EWBA President Jessie Clark. Also present, in a separate group led by Carl Taylor, were 16 members of Cove. The first 2 days comprised friendly bowls and then on the third day, there was a competition where the the Clark party players were drawn out of a hat whilst Cove members played together in the rinks they in which they featured on the previous days. The Final was a tight affair and John Guerin's Cove rink, which had bowled well all week, defeated a rink skipped by Trevor Wearn by 1 shot. Martin Smith also had a good day featuring in the 3rd/4th place game. In fact the Smith/Wearn combination excelled all week winning prizes in a variety of competitions ranging from indoor putting to "cover the cards"
