Cheshire East Council Update re: Garden waste

The subscription service for green waste collections is planned to go live in January 2024.

By opting-in to the service, you can continue using your garden bin to recycle your green waste and will pay a proposed annual subscription fee of £56 for it to be collected.

If you opt-in, your garden bin will be emptied as per your usual schedule and you will be sent a specialist sticker to attach to your bin, which will feature a unique reference and is designed to fray and tear when removed to prevent it being reused by others.

This subscription service is a significant element in the council achieving a balanced budget in 2023-25, while also protecting essential frontline services and continuing to deliver on our ambitions and priorities.

A report on the green waste subscription, where councillors will be asked to decide on the implementation details of the scheme, will be discussed at the council’s environment and communities committee on 27 July.
