A general election has been called for 12 December 2019, which means Sevenoaks District Council is busy preparing for the third election this year.

For the General Election, Sevenoaks District Council will issue around 89,000 poll cards to its residents and open 68 polling stations.

Only people aged 18 and over who have registered to vote by 26 November will be able to have their say on 12 December.

Returning Officer and Chief Executive of Sevenoaks District Council, Dr Pav Ramewal, says: “Elections are always an incredibly busy and exciting time for us. Our teams work very hard to make sure the voting process is easy for our residents.”

Dr Ramewal adds: “We would encourage everyone to make sure they are registered to vote before 26 November so they don’t miss out on having their say about who should run the country.”

Anyone unable to make it to the polls can apply for a postal vote by 5pm on 26 November or a proxy vote by 5pm on 4 December.
