At the end of July, the High Court published their judgement on Gladman’s first application to build 225+ houses at the end of Ladyclose Avenue and Mortimer Avenue; the application was dismissed, i.e. the West of Town Road. This was great news!

However, Medway Council have given permission to Esquire Developments to build 92 assorted properties on the ground opposite the Recreation ground; some people know this area as ‘The Spinney’. Work has already begun in the form of a fence surrounding the area and clearing the land of trees and bushes.

Hopefully, you will already know that Gladman have made a second application to build homes on the originally proposed site to the West of Town Road, MC/19/0287. Thank you to those people who have already sent an objection to the Planning officer. Now is the time to write to your local Councillor, John Williams, to reinforce your objection to building on green field sites. Please include in your letter, as many reasons as you see appropriate, even if you have used them before. johnwilliams@freeavalon.co.uk
