The Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community is once again hosting ‘Run, walk or push against dementia’ in Knole Park, Sevenoaks.
The event takes place on Sunday 22 May 2022 and is suitable for people of all ages and as ever, there will be 3k, 5k and 10k courses to sign up to. The 3k and 5k courses are suitable for those running, walking and pushing off road prams while the 10k course is intended for runners. Five-hundred places are available.
The event will raise money for the Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community, a registered charity that supports local people who are living with dementia and their carers.
Cabinet Member for People and Places, Cllr Lesley Dyball says: “We’re so excited that ‘Run, walk or push’ is back for 2022. It’s always a brilliant event in a beautiful setting for the whole family. This year we want to raise more money than ever for the Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community.”
Co-founder of the Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community, Elaine Murray, adds: “Money raised from previous 'Run, walk or push' events helped to pay for dementia -friendly cafés, our Forget-me-not allotment, Forget-me-notes singing group and wellbeing days. We have not been unable to raise funds for two years so your donations and participation will enable us to sustain and grow our cafés to reach more people who need us.”
