One of the biggest questions we're being asked at the moment is, when are the green bins going to get emptied.

Just to explain, our landlord has to pay for green waste collections on a per bin basis. Once you've paid you get a permit to stick on the bin which tells the collection team it's ok to empty.

The permits for our site's green bins expired on 31 March 2024 and two months on still haven't been renewed.

We asked senior manangers for an update as to what's going on because all green bins have been overfull for weeks and green waste is pilling up.

This is their reply.

The green bins situation is being resolved, this is currently with our accounts department and the accounts department of Basildon Council.

As soon as they have sorted this, the service will be resumed.

It's a similar reply to one we had about 6 weeks ago and there are no suggestions for what we're supposed to do in the meantime.
