We have been advised (with short notice) of the intention of Horsham District Council to Green Call for Sites’ consultation which will close on Monday 31st October 2022. The details and information provided is listed below.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Temple, an environmental consultancy, are undertaking a study for the District Council that investigates how to maximise the delivery of biodiversity net gain (BNG) in Horsham District in connection with the emerging statutory 10% biodiversity net gain requirements (introduced by the Environment Act 2021 subject to Regulations). As part of this work, the consultants are carrying out a ‘Green Call for Sites’ consultation which commences today, Tuesday 18th October, and will close on Monday 31st October 2022.

The ‘Green Call for Sites’ is an invitation to local landowners or their agents to propose land parcels that could be suitable for biodiversity net gain (BNG) within Horsham. At this stage, submitting a site does not represent a commitment from the landowner or Horsham District Council, it merely acts as an expression of interest. This is currently a theoretical exercise which will inform Temple’s study, which will form part of the evidence base to the emerging Local Plan.
