SHALDON BOWLING CLUB

Green opens on the 24th April 2021

It is very unfortunate that because of Covid restrictions we cannot have any form of an opening ceremony, but roll-ups, league and friendly games will commence on the opening day if requested.

All the above will be permitted but under Bowls England guidelines and our interpretation of them as stated here and on the accompanying Shaldon Bowling Club Covid Rules.

It should be noted that under the current step 2 rules no car driver can have another person in their car unless they are a member of the same household

As a result of the above and because we cannot provide refreshments, for the time being, we will not be collecting rink money or paying travel costs.

In addition the club will not be able to accommodate ad-hoc public bowlers so there will be no requirement for green duty for that purpose.

It is hoped that the rules will be less onerous at step 3 which is scheduled for 17th May.

The rules and the Club fixtures are available on the club website (shaldonbc). We will try to keep the fixtures up-to-date.

Please treat the green with respect. A lot of time and a good amount of club funds have been expended over the winter and the past months so please do not spoil the efforts.

A gentle reminder, please make sure you have paid your membership fee before the end of April. We have to pay affiliation fees at the 1st May and we will only pay for those who have paid. Affiliation is essential for all league and county competitions.
