The North East Mayoral Strategic Authority is consulting on a proposed bus franchising scheme. Under the scheme, the Authority would exercise more control over routes, timetables and ticket prices across the whole North East region, with the aim of simplifying pricing, improving routes, timetables and information, and eventually creating a more integrated transport network.

If you use the bus you might want to know more about how an integrated North East transport system would affect our local service from Borders Buses, or how the timetable might connect better with the trains from Berwick. You might also have ideas for how the timetable could be improved. Maybe you don’t use the bus and would like to say why not. Whatever your experience of bus travel, don’t lose this chance to have your say.

You can find out more about the detailed plans and the consultation on the NE Mayoral Strategic Authority website:

http://northeast-ca.gov.uk

There is a public event in Berwick Trust Community Hall on Thursday 3rd September from 14.00 to 18.00 where you can find out more and comment in person, and there are a number of online events which anyone can register to join (details on the NE Mayoral SA website as above).

Norham Parish Council is also inviting you to share any comments so that a response can be provided on behalf of the the community. Please send your feedback on the proposal or on bus services generally to:

clerk@norhamparishcouncil.gov.uk with the subject title BUSES

Deadline for responses to the Parish Council is 7th September.
Deadline for responses directly to the NE Mayoral Strategic Authority is 9am on 28th September.
