To celebrate his 85th birthday, Great Grandpa Paul Symes of The Dene Hurstbourne Tarrant will be flying from Popham Airfield and will fly over the village in a Chipmunk between 1215 and 1300 on Sat 11 May. Remarkably, he last piloted this same Chipmunk (No WZ 882) on 22 March 1965 in his last fixed-wing training flight at the AAC Centre in Middle Wallop - before moving on to train and serve as a helicopter pilot in Germany. So, both Paul and the aircraft have history! Give him a wave.
