Headcorn Prescriptions

MONDAY TO FRIDAY COLLECTION OF PRESCRIPTIONS FROM HEADCORN
DURING CORONA VIRUS RESTRICTIONS
On behalf of Smarden Good Neighbour Scheme I will collect prescriptions from Headcorn for any Smarden residents daily Monday to Friday at 2.00 p.m. and spend the afternoon delivering them to your home address. Hopefully this will help those unable to get to the pharmacy and reduce footfall in the pharmacy.
If you would like me to collect and deliver your prescription you need to:
Order it 3 -4 days in advance of collection. Advise the pharmacy that Gill Bromley will collect it for you
Inform me straight away that you wish me to collect it. You can e-mail me via gillbrom57@btinternet.com; phone me via 01622 890214 or 07543644911 or message me via Facebook Messenger. Please give your name and full address including postcode and leave a contact phone number in case of any queries.
When I deliver your medication I will ring your doorbell or knock. I will place the package on the doorstep, and retreat to wait until you pick it up. Please make sure you will be at home from 2.00 .m. on the afternoon that I deliver it. I would prefer not to leave medication in a box etc.
Please be aware that this service is for the duration of the Corona Virus restrictions only. We will inform you when it will cease. After that the Good Neighbour Scheme volunteers will collect for older and vulnerable people, and those who cannot drive, on Thursday mornings, as they have done for the past few years.
If my husband or I become ill the Good Neighbour Scheme volunteers will take over if they can.
Please be aware that this is a voluntary service. I am not a healthcare professional but I will work closely with the pharmacy. In the rare event that anyone is rude or aggressive I will no longer be able to offer the service to that person. Please understand that the pharmacy staff are working under great pressure, and that sometimes human errors occur. Please be aware that I will visit the pharmacy every day so in a few rare cases there may be a delay of 24 hours. The key message is for you to place your Prescription Request in good time to avoid running out of medication. If the pharmacy is unable to provide a prescription I will a) ask when it will be available and b) inform you so that you can contact the pharmacy to discuss the matter if you need to.
This is a free service but anyone who wishes to can give a donation to ‘Smarden Good Neighbour Scheme’ when restrictions are lifted.
This is also a learning experience for me so please bear with me and I’m sure this will work.
Meanwhile I hope you all stay safe and healthy
