Heavitree Shield 2026

The annual Heavitree Shield was held on Saturday 15th August when, mercifully, the temperature was a little cooler than we have become used to during this summer.

Teams from Belmont, Chagford, Exonia, Phear Park, St Thomas and Starcross competed against 6 teams from Heavitree in the usual round robin format over 24 ends. The leading teams were all from Heavitree with the winning rink of Angela Foster, Ricky Alvarez, Martin Jury and Derek Parsons finishing with a shot difference of +27. A presentation of a bottle of wine each was made to the best visiting team which proved to be the team from Chagford.

The much appreciated half time break saw the provision of a cream tea and a selection of home made cakes for players and spectators.
