Well..........what a start to the 2024 bowling season!!! Rain, rain, rain, oh.....and a bit more rain.......and don't mention the cold wind!!!

Waterlogged green, couldn't even get on to have a practice. Lots of bowlers with shiny new bowls who couldn't get to use them. Postponed league matches wreaking havoc with the timetable.

GOOD NEWS, the green has now dried out enough to get bowling. This week saw the first league matches played on our green and the first social bowling session on Thursday 18th April. The first coaching session will get underway on Saturday 20th so normality is being resumed.

A big thank you to the greenkeeping team for battling against the elements to get the green playable and continuing to work hard behind the scenes to improve the surface now that some better weather has arrived. Also thanks to everyone who worked through the close season to improve the matchroom for the benefit of members and those involved in erecting the new shed.

Here's looking forward to an enjoyable 2024 season and to seeing all members back on the green enjoying themselves soon.
