Help Light Up Telford Day 2026

Message from Telford and Wrekin Council:

Families are invited to get creative this October half term and make their own lantern at one of our artist-led workshops, inspired by the heritage, innovation, and iconic landscapes of Ironbridge Gorge.

These unique creations will then take part in the spectacular Telford Day Lantern Parade on Sunday 29 November 2026 at 6pm in Dale End Park, Ironbridge, celebrating 40 years of UNESCO World Heritage Site status for Ironbridge Gorge.

The workshops support our Child Friendly Telford and Wrekin ambition by giving children and young people the chance to be creative, take part in a community celebration and feel proud of the place they live.

Workshops are suitable for children aged 5+, cost just £3 per child, last approximately 2.5 hours and children must be accompanied by an adult. Aprons are provided, but we'd recommend wearing older clothes.
