Buckingham Palace issued the following statement this evening - "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

"The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."

Her Majesty was on the throne for 70 years and was the longest reigning monarch in British history.

East Stoke Council expresses condolences upon the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The Chair of the Parish Council, Councillor Rebecca Cady, on behalf of the citizens of East Stoke, would like to express sincere condolences to the Royal Family, on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Chairman said, “East Stoke Council are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of the Queen. She devoted so much time and commitment to her Country and she will be sorely missed.”
