A lot of residents have expressed concern for the welfare of the horse that's in the field at the front of the site.

Just for clarity, the two fields at the front are owned by the daughter of the lady who used to run Dunton park many moons ago and both have been offered to Basildon council for development. In the meantime a local farmer has a tenancy arrangement.

The farmer wasn't aware a horse had been left in the field but isn't bothered and is happy to let it stay.

The owner does appear to vist to refill water etc so everything is good. We've also spoken to horse experts who tell us horses are a hardy animals and the long grass is adequate food. Horses do not need rugs when turned out unless they have been clipped (horses on Dartmoor don't wear rugs despite the harsh conditions) so we shouldn't be overly worried.
