Hospital Land Purchase at Junction 7, M3

In her position as Stakeholder Hospital Governor, Cllr Juliet Henderson has asked for clarification from the the hospital with regards to the announcement made on the 5th March 2026 by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust about land purchased at Junction 7 of the M3 for a potential site for building a new hospital in the future.

‘In the immediate future, there will be no changes to how the land is used. The site will continue to be actively farmed, ensuring it remains productive and well‑maintained. This will allow the land to stay in beneficial use and preserves its condition until any formal decisions are made.’

The size of the plot is 125.8 acres and is part of the Southern Manydown land, specifically Southwood Farm. The land borders Maidenthorn Lane and is behind the North Waltham Business Centre.’
