IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING A PROPOSED NEW DEVELOPMENT ON EMT LAND
The Parish Council has today received this information from a company acting for East Malling Trust. This is the first that the Parish Council was made aware of this proposal and so the Council does not know anymore than what is stated in this information. So for more information we would advise you to click on the link or visit the exhibition on Thursday 9th February. Members of the Council will attend this exhibition and of course will share any further information that it receives. The Council is very concerned about this proposal as it would have a devastating effect on the village and surrounding area. They have sent out the Invitation below for an exhibition on proposals for "a new community between East Malling and Hermitage Lane":
The Public Exhibition takes place on Thursday, 9 February, from 1.30-7.30pm. "It will be an opportunity for you to see the plans and ask any questions, and is taking place at the Orchards Conference Centre, East Malling Business Centre at NIAB, accessed via New Road, East Malling."
The information states that "as well as delivering a mix of new homes, the proposals include plans for a two-form entry primary school, community facilities, local retail units, a park and open space, plus improving the local road network, cycle paths and footpaths. The 53-hectare site, sits to the north of the Maidstone East railway line and south of the Quarry Wood Industrial Estate, accessed via Hermitage Lane and Kiln Barn Road.
The East Malling Trust has created www.Bradbourne.info to help inform the local community and promote feedback on the project from residents"
