A34 Oxfordshire Road Marking and Road Stud Replacement

We will be carrying out work to refresh the road markings and install LED road studs at the West Ilsley junction, Chilton junction, Milton Interchange, Hinksey Hill junction and the Botley Interchange, to improve safety to road users. For the safety of our workforce and customers, we will be closing the A34 north and southbound carriageways overnight (9pm to 6am, Monday to Friday nights) as follows:

• Monday 16th September for two nights – Northbound – A423 Hinksey Hill junction to the A44 Peartree Interchange

• Wednesday 18th September for two nights – Southbound – A44 Peartree Interchange to the A423 Hinksey Hill junction

• Friday 20th September for two nights – Southbound – A420 Botley Interchange to the A4130 Milton Interchange

• Sunday 22nd September for two nights – Northbound – A4130 Milton Interchange to the A420 Botley Interchange

• Tuesday 24th September for two nights – Northbound – M4 Chieveley Interchange to the A4130 Milton Interchange

• Thursday 26th September for two nights – Southbound – A4130 Milton Interchange to the M4 Chieveley Interchange

• Monday 7th October for two nights – Northbound – A423 Hinksey Hill junction to the A44 Peartree Interchange

• Wednesday 9th October for two nights – Southbound – A44 Peartree Interchange to the A423 Hinksey Hill junction

• Friday 11th October for two nights – Southbound – A420 Botley Interchange to the A4130 Milton Interchange

• Sunday 13th October for two nights – Northbound – A4130 Milton Interchange to the A420 Botley Interchange

• Tuesday 15th October for two nights – Northbound – M4 Chieveley Interchange to the A4130 Milton Interchange

• Thursday 17th October for two nights – Southbound – A4130 Milton Interchange to the M4 Chieveley Interchange

Diversions

For closures between the Hinksey Hill junction and the Peartree Interchange all traffic will be diverted via the Oxford ring-road.

For closures between the Milton Interchange and Botley Interchange standard traffic will be diverted via the A417, Wantage, A338 and A420 (southbound diversion the same in reverse). Heavy Goods vehicles will be diverted via the A420 between Oxford and Swindon due to unsuitability through Wantage.

For closures between the M4/Chieveley and the Milton Interchange standard traffic will be diverted via A4, A338, Wantage and A417 (southbound diversion the same in reverse). Heavy Goods vehicles will be diverted via the A420 between Oxford and Swindon due to unsuitability through Wantage.

Please be aware that these works have been carefully programmed but are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances – please check the yellow signs placed in advance at the junction for confirmation of the closures dates/timings.
