Severn Trent Water have recently set up a Community Flood Team. I am the new Community Flood Officer responsible for carrying out the team’s duties within Nottinghamshire. The Goals of this new team is as followed:

  • Supporting and working with existing community networks
    • e.g. Flood Wardens, Flood Actions Groups, etc.
  • Attend community drop-ins and add value through our messages
  • Direct customers to the correct organisation by attending and triaging reported flooding
  • Participating in:
    • Community flood meetings
    • Local Authority-led flood boards / panels / groups
    • Local Resilience Forum Flood Groups
  • Supporting customers who have received mitigation measures
  • Operational response during incident

As part of my role, I am proactively reaching out to stakeholders around Nottinghamshire.

We are a team focused on community support; therefore, I am keen to engage with individual communities which have been affected by flooding or foresee this as an issue in the future.

Many thanks
