The Greasley club are preparing for the new season with a few concerns .

During the lastend of season meeting at Coronation park we where asked to take on the marking out of the green by the Broxtowe Parks and Leisure manager ,which ,somewhat reluctantly we agreed to do.

The park is a public facility and in marking out we are obliged to ensure at least two rinks for casual players on match days .This becomes difficult because some of the outside rinks are affected by subsidence :Also we need a rink rotation system to equalize the wear to the green .We have a few ideas and with the help of the Brinsley team will do this work in March. The other problem will be what materials we use to accomplish this task .I have counted up to 70 number markers to mark a 6 rink green and up to 84 markers for a 7 rink green. These could be made using plastic strip pinned to the back board so if anyone has any spare plastic facia or similar let us know.Bright ideas also welcome!!

We are assured by Broxtowe that the clearly visable green susidence may need a lazer survey and they are considering quotations to carry this out .We await their conclusions.

Other news the Pavillion is being re-decorated at the moment.

On the bright side we have over 70 fixtures on the card and as always hope to add futher to our squad .

We have several pre season friendlies for new players to have a try out , so if you think the game is for you give us a call .01773 716076.

Our preseason meeting is at the Greasley MW Social Club Dovecoat Road Newthorpe on Friday 6th April starts 7.30pm

You are welcome to come up and meet us.
