Chairman.
Cllr. Suzanne Wyche has been re-elected Chairman of the Parish Council for further year at the Annual Meeting held in May. Cllr. Stephen Bilbie has been re-elected as Vice Chairman.
New Parish Councillor Co-opted.
Callum Ward has been co-opted on to the Parish Council to fill one of the two vacancies. Callum lives on Leicester Road and has recently moved to the Village and is a geotechnical and environmental engineer working as a Project Manager for a firm of consultants in Northamptonshire. Callum is married with two young children.
With the recent proposed developments and changes to the village, Callum is keen to make his expertise available to help the community get the right types of development, to not put undue pressure on the village’s facilities and not to add to the problems with roads, drains and car parking. Callum is also keen to get involved with the problem of speeding traffic and the issue of on-street parking which makes it difficult at times to safely navigate the pavements.
For Callum’s contact details and those for all parish councillors please visit the website: http://www.fleckneyparishcouncil.org.uk
Neighbourhood Plan - Consultation.
Neighbourhood plans come out of the Government’s determination to ensure that local communities are closely involved in the decisions which affect them. The Fleckney Plan is being developed to establish a vision for the Village and to help deliver the local community’s aspirations and needs for the plan period 2017 – 2031. Unlike the Parish Plan, which was produced in 2010, the Neighbourhood Plan when made will be a statutory document that will be incorporated into the district planning frameworks and must be used by Harborough District Council to determine planning applications.
This Pre-submission Plan, which is now out for consultation, has been produced by local residents, with the support of the Parish Council, using the views of the residents of Fleckney. The Steering Committee has consulted and listened to the community and local organisations on a wide range of issues that will influence the well-being, sustainability and long-term preservation of our rural community.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the views and policies contained in this document reflect those of the majority of Fleckney residents.
However, your views and comments on this Pre-submission Plan are important and will be taken into account and the Plan amended if felt necessary so do take the opportunity during the consultation period to let us know what you think about the Plan. The consultation period ends at 5.00pm on 16th July 2018.
An electronic copy of the Plan can be found online at http://www.fleckneynp.org.uk together with guidance on how to make comments during the consultation period.
