Your Local Parish Monthly - June 2021

Farningham, Horton Kirby, South Darenth

Hi local parishes,

June has been a very busy time for us with the group stages of EURO 2020 taking place as well as the weather throughout this month. We currently have an operation ongoing (OP LIBERTY) which is to deal with anti-social behaviour and to target specific areas where this may be taking place. On days were England have been playing football more patrols have been on duty and licensing checks have been done in pubs to ensure all covid restrictions are being followed.

As most of you know that the final lockdown restrictions were due to be lifted on the 21st of June, however, with the Delta variant on the rise this has been pushed back until the 19th of July. We emplore everyone to keep listening to the current covid guidelines. Covid patrols are still continuing to take place all over the Sevenoaks district and a covid car is on duty every day attending to covid breaches and hot spot areas.

As a district, we are still getting reports of a number of youths using catapults and ball bearings to cause criminal damage. Where possible, report any youths seen with catapults into us via 999 in the case of an emergency or 101. You can also report online through the Kent police website.

FARNINGHAM, HORTON KIRBY, SOUTH DARENTH

An action fraud report was made on behalf of a resident who had a call stating there was a warrant out for his arrest due to a issue with his national insurance card, this is a fraud call and if you receive any call of such report straight to Action fraud.

We have noticed a reduction in the amount of calls we were receiving for Heathside and Westminster field regarding nuiscance youths. Patrols take place daily and can see this has had a positive affect.

Rogue traders were attempting to encourage an elderly women into getting her roof repaired, if you do not recognise the person at the door don’t answer it or tell them you are not interested. If you do need any repairs done on your home id recommend going on to check a trade.com to find legitamate businesses.

General information

Cheshire police force informed us that a number of farms in there area were targeted for the cable wires from solar panels. We have no intelligence that this is going to happen in Kent however we have been making visits to farms with solar panels to make them aware and to gain details such as point of contact, entrances/exits and a what three words location. If you know anyone with a farm or stables with solar panels please feel free to make them aware.

Scams have been reported in all areas of people claiming to be from the bank and asking vulnerable people to place money into a “safe account”. If you receive any call of such please put the phone down and report to Action fraud, do not give out your details over the phone.

Other scams include people claiming to be from a police force stating your national insurance card has a problem with it and to buy google play cards for several hunderds of pounds and to pass on the details to the caller. Again do not do this and put the phone straight down and report to action fraud. The police will never ask you to purchase anything and will never ask for your bank details. If you receive a phone call from the police and are sceptical you are more than welcome to ask for their force number and call 101 to confirm if this is a legitamate call.

Many thanks.
