This morning at Leamington, Nicole and Heather took on the top Devon pairing of Sophie Tolchard and Harriett Stevens in the quarter final of the National Junior Pairs. It was always going to be a tough task with Nicole leading against Sophie, arguably Englands current best singles player, having been National Junior Singles and Senior Singles winner in 2015 and having already lifted 3 titles at the 2016 Championships. The task was no easier for Heather who had to skip against Harriett who the previous day had finished runner up in the National Pairs. Both Oakley players performed well and there were some excellent heads but they were unable to match the skill and experience of their illustrious opponents who ran out 23-4 winners. Our players will hopefully have learnt much from their experience and they can console themselves with the knowledge that they went out to the pair that later in the day became the National Champions.
