Over the last few months, we have been checking what has been working well and seeing where we think we can improve. Our ideas are set out in the draft strategy for Adult Social Care and we hope as many people as possible will take part and let us know whether we are on the right track. The consultation closes on 24 October.

Our person-focused vision and strategy summarise how we plan to make changes over the coming years to put the person first, improve all the time and measure what matters.

Our vision: "Making a positive difference every day, supporting you to live as full and safe a life as possible and to make informed choices"
  • People will also have accessible information, guidance and advice as early as possible.
  • We will work with communities early on to help people feel empowered, resilient and able to develop their independence with access to trusted support.
  • The voices of the people we support will be heard as individuals, making sure we focus on equality, diversity and inclusion as a guide towards continuous improvement.

We need your views on the draft strategy as we look to change our approach over the next five years so that residents who may need help from more than one service would have only a single point of contact. The information would then be shared with other relevant services without the need for the client to outline their requirements all over again.

Thank you to those of you who participated in our early engagement workshops at the beginning of the year, and our co-production workshops this summer. Your contributions helped us to shape the draft strategy for adult social care that is now out for formal consultation.

Our person-focused vision and strategy summarise how we plan to make changes over the coming years to put the person first, improve all the time and measure what matters. The aim is to work with people in Kent and all our partners to turn our ambitions into reality. You can read more about it on our website.

Social care and health have never been more prominent in our daily lives. Our dedicated workforce has pulled together with our partner organisations, providers and communities to respond to some of the most challenging times in recent history.

We need your views on the draft strategy, which sets out what will be different, and outlines the principles we will follow to achieve our five-year vision of: “Making a positive difference every day, supporting you to live as full and safe a life as possible and make informed choices.”

We would like to hear your views on our draft Adult Social Care Strategy so that we can make sure we’re on the right track, we can find out what we might have missed or how you think it could be improved.

Please read the draft strategy and answer the questionnaire on the Kent County Council consultation web page to let us know what you think.

Visit: https://letstalk.kent.gov.uk/adult-social-care-strategy to take part.

The consultation closes on 24 October 2021.

If you run a community group and you would like someone to facilitate a workshop either online or face to face, please contact the Stakeholder Engagement Team via the email address below.
