Our walk from Stockbridge to Romsey
On Friday 22nd March we started our walk at Stockbridge & had an easy 6 mile walk on the old railway line following the famous fishing of the River Test until we arrived at the National Trust property of Mottisfont Abbey. Behind the village church we rejoined the Test Way & followed an arduous path through gravel diggings & very muddy woodlands until Romsey Abbey came into view in the valley & then onward to Sadlers Mill where we rejoined the river and finished our walk, a total of 12 miles in 4.5 hours & then a well earned lunch at The Cromwell Arms.
And so onward to our final walk from Romsey to Eling Wharf on Thursday this week.
We would like to thank everyone who has donated to the mini bus appeal so far.
