🎬 Rail Safety & Knife Crime Awareness – Local Partnership Project

Officers from Kent Police, alongside partners from Thanet District Council, South-eastern Rail, British Transport Police, and students from East Kent College, have recently collaborated on a joint project aimed at raising awareness of rail safety and the dangers of knife crime.

The project involved participants acting and taking part in filmed scenarios at Margate Police Station. These scenarios were designed to highlight real-life risks and encourage safer decision-making amongst young people.

The finished material will be used nationally within schools to support education around personal safety, highlighting the consequences of unsafe behaviour on the railway network and the serious impact of carrying knives.

This partnership approach reflects the commitment across agencies to work together with young people, using relatable and engaging methods to deliver important safety messages.

We will continue to support initiatives like this to keep our communities safe and empower young people to make positive choices.

☀️ Increased Patrols – Keeping You Safe This Week

With the warmer weather expected this week, officers will also be conducting additional patrols along local beaches across Thanet.

We encourage everyone to enjoy the sunshine safely and responsibly:

· Stay aware of your surroundings

· Look after your belongings

· Avoid risky behaviour, particularly near the coastline and railway areas

· Report any concerns to police
