LADIES BOW OUT OF COUNTY FOURS

This morning at Banister Park Southampton, the Oakley Four of Mary Varndell, Sue Dixon, Janie Vickers and Ruth Bown made a promising start in the Quarter Finals of the County Fours leading Lockswood BC 8-2 after 5 ends. Over the next 10 ends, however, Oakley scored only 2 shots and found themseves 10-15 down at 15 ends. Try as they did to reduce the deficit Oakley's efforts were in vain and after 20 ends Lockswood still retained a 5 shot lead and a dropped four on the final end meant Oakley departed the competition losing 17-26
