LADIES CRASH OUT OF GAZETTE CUP

Last Night Oakley Ladies travelled to St Mary Bourne to play in the NHWBA Gazette Cup, the three triple inter club competition. The Oakley selectors had made a conscious decision to try out some new players and combinations in this competition but in doing so they had probably not expected that the green would be as heavy as it was. From the outset Oakley struggled with the green and by 6 ends trailed by 9 shots. The second third of the game saw some large scores dropped and by 12 ends the deficit had increased to 30 shots. There was no way back from this position and although Janie Vickers triple came back to win Oakley disappointingly lost overall by 22 shots.

Oakley Scores: Jo Holland, Sandra Lee and Angie Rowe lost 16-29, Sue Dixon, Laura Butler and Janie Vickers won 18 17, Camila Kingshott, Val Ryan and June Harvie lost 9-19.
