Dear Member

COVID 19 – Latest Guidelines on using the Club and for Practice Games

I hope you are all keeping well in these trying times but a little light at the end of the tunnel is now shining.

Play arrangements

  1. One rink to be left free between play, singles only and no team games. Social distancing rules must be strictly adhered to; you must remain at least 2 meters apart from other bowlers (who are not part of your household) at all times. You can play bowls with a member of your own household or with one other member of a different household.
  2. Maximum of six players on club premises at any one time.
  3. No visitors/spectators to be admitted to the club.
  4. Do not shake hands before, during or after a game.
  5. Do not ‘high five’ or hug other player to celebrate shots or wins.
  6. Only one player should handle the mat during the session.
  7. Two jacks (one at each end) should be used and this should be set by one player only throughout the session.
  8. If scoring social distancing rules must be strictly adhered to at all times. Do not touch your opponents’ bowls with your hands. Avoid measuring for shots.
  9. To minimise the risk of infection, only essential items should be utilised during any session. Mats, Bowls, Jacks, scorecards (these should be retained by one person only if required). To further minimise the risk of infection any other equipment is not deemed essential at this time and should not be utilised. Scoreboards, bowls pushers.
  10. A rink booking sheet will be in the clubhouse please fill it in and the club will charge £1.00 per roll-up session. Please place your pounds in the competition box on the wall. No need for envelopes. Please ensure you have paid your £10 subscription fees before you book your rink, this can be given to either Stewart Maddocks of myself.

Clubhouse Facilities/Personal Care

  1. Until further notice all clubhouses must be closed with limited essential access to use toilets and hand washing facilities
  2. Wash or sanitise your hands and sanitise any equipment Including bowls’, jacks and mats, you use before and after play – do not assume that the person before you has sanitised the equipment thoroughly.
  3. Sanitise padlocks, keys and door handles before and after use.
  4. Avoid using the toilets at the club wherever possible and clean anything you have touched after use.
  5. No rubbish bins – players must take any rubbish away with them.
  6. Take any food and drink you might need with you.
  7. Antibacterial spray hand sanitiser’s paper towels will be available in the club house , changing rooms and outdoor equipment shed.

When you leave

When you finish playing , change your shoes and the leave the club immediately – ensuring that you have sanitised all equipment used and the club is secure.

At no time must the bar be opened, all bars are still in lock-down and that includes clubs and kitchens are also included in this.Further progress on this may come in July.

We hope you all stay safe and that we all get through these challenging times by looking to help each other where we can.

Meanwhile keep safe, take care, look after yourself and when you do return to the green enjoy your bowls.
