Avant Homes - Avant Homes are ready to present a smaller amended plan and are keen to meet the parish council (PC) before the application is formally presented to North Yorkshire Council. The PC view on this is that it should be a public meeting, we know BMAG is keen to be involved and the PC knows its role is to ensure parishioners views are taken into account, therefore we will be talking to Avant to say that we’re happy to host and facilitate an open village meeting. We’ll update you on the next steps.

Trees and Signs - The Parish Council recognises the complaints of residents about overhanging branches along the beck and elsewhere in the village as well as signs being obscured. It’s the time of year where plant growth has outpaced cutting and we’ve been in touch with NYC on certain areas such as cutting around signs but they haven’t as yet taken care of them. We’ll also be talking to our arborist about work needing to be done alongside the beck to ensure overhangs are minimised.

Play Park Inspections - Gareth Sargeson will be taking on responsibility for ensuring the play park is fit for purpose and is safe for our children to use. Gareth has a background in construction so is well versed on regulations and requirements. The inspections will recommence immediately and will be done monthly.

Full Minutes of the meeting will be posted as soon as possible.
