Today was the start of the National Championships at Leamington - good luck to all the Hampshire players

Women's 2 Bowl Singles

Our two representatives in the first round were Laura Kitcher of Kings Park who lost 7-14 to Wiltshire and Charlie Crook of Banister Park who unfortunately also lost 9-15 to Lancashire

Men's 2 Bowl Singles

In the Men's 2 Bowl Singles there was a 17-8 win for Perry Martin of Boscombe Cliff against Durham in the first round and he will play again in Round 2 later today. Unfortunately his club team mate, Alex Dytham, lost his match 12-17 to Huntingdonshire. In the second Round Perry went on to defeat Warwickshire 15-6 and will play again tomorrow lunchtime in Round 3

Men's Junior Pairs

Today also saw the start of the Junior Pairs Championship. In the Men's Pairs we were represented by Luke Bell and Jake Palmer of Sports Centre who were given a bye to Round 1 but were defeated 18-22 by Kent

Women's Junior Pairs

There was better news in the Women's Junior Pairs where Grace Read and Darcey Read of Milton Park won their Preliminary Round match against Wiltshire by 19 shots to 17. In the First Round match they went on to defeat Lancashire 14-11 and will return tomorrow luchtime to play in the Quarter Final

Women's Senior Singles

Our representative in the Women's Senior Singles is Sue Sirl of Banister Park who got off to a great start in the Round of 16 as she defeated Somerset 21-14 and will play again tomorrow lunchtime in the Quarter Final

Men's Senior Pairs

The Men's Senior Pairs also started this afternoon with John Keat and Chris Daniels of Boscombe Cliff defeating Surrey 18-10 and they will also play again tomorrow lunchtime in the Quarter Final
