Leamington - Day 4

Today was Day 4 at Leamington and the following Hampshire players were in action

Balcomb Trophy

Our Men's Balcomb Trophy Team were fist in action this morning as they faced Leicestershire in the Quarter Final. Unfortunately we lost both the Pairs and Triples disciplines and despite a draw in the Fours we lost the match by 31 shots to 51

Family Pairs

Our representatives for the Family Pairs were father and son Alan B Forrest and Alan C Forrest of Fleming Park who were drawn against Huntingdonshire in the Quarter Final this morning but were defeated by 4 shots to 20

Walker Cup

The Women's Walker Cup Team started their campaign at lunchtime in the Quarter Final against Northamptonshire and won all three disciplines in a 50 shots to 30 victory. In the Semi Final we faced Durham and whilst we lost the Triples and Four's disciplines we won the Pairs very comfortably to reach the Final with a 58-47 win

That put us into this evening's Final against Devon which was always going to be a tough match. We lost the Pairs by 13-19 but won the Triples 20-12 so it was all down to the result of the Fours. Frustratingly we lost by 5 shots to 17 and overall by 38-48 but it was a fantastic performance to reach a National Final and to get so close to winning our second National Title of the Championships
