Thanks to Meryl and Jeanette, two members of Wilmington Womens Institute, and their friends further recognition of the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings can now be seen in the Rose Garden in the centre of the Village.

Cascades of poppies on camouflage netting now fall from a central point to each of the beaches where the landings with code names of Utah, Gold, Sword Juno and Omaha.were made.

A fitting tribute to the sacrifices made by so many 80 years ago on 6th June 1944...................we will remember them.
