Litter and Flytipping

Highclere Parish Council employs a litter warden who you may have seen working in the parish. He is only allowed to work in 30mph and 40mph zones if it is safe to do so. There is a stretch of A343 from the A34 by-pass junction to the Penwood crossroads where it is not safe for the litter warden to collect. The Parish Council has requested that Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council cleansing department add this section to their schedule. The main problem is waste relating to fast food and coffee outlets.

If you see litter being thrown from vehicles or fly tipping please go to https://www.basingstoke.gov.uk/flytipping. Please do not put yourself at any risk if you witness an incident. Do not approach any person you suspect of fly-tipping, your personal safety is always the most important thing. By logging the incident on the Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council website they are able to track the number of incidents and address the problem. Please also email parishclerk@highclerevillage.com as Highclere Parish Council are also keeping a log of flytipping incidents.
