Little Marlow Parish Council Statement in Response to Film Studio Appeal Decision
Little Marlow Parish Council are deeply disappointed in the result announced today by Matthew Pennycook MP, Minister of State for Housing and Planning, granting planning permission for the Marlow Film Studio development.
The Parish Council have campaigned tirelessly over a number of years to represent the needs and wishes of our residents, including taking on Rule 6 Party status at the lengthy planning inquiry earlier this year to allow us to present formal evidence and witnesses supporting our case.
We feel that the development is inappropriate in a country park area and will not provide significant benefits for the local population, whilst the harms associated with building on such a site are certain and substantial. Unfortunately, the government have chosen to back speculative investment for growth, which evidence suggests is unlikely to materialise, in preference to considering the wellbeing of residents, the impact on the road network or the importance of greenbelt in preserving our countryside.
