Local Coronavirus cases in Telford and Wrekin for the week ending 27 September

For the week ending 20 September, in Telford and Wrekin there has been:

  • 66 people have diagnosed with Covid-19
  • 4 relate to care homes
  • 14 relate to educational settings
  • The remaining 48 are in the community across the borough
  • 6 of the 66 people diagnosed with Covid-19 have been admitted to hospital
  • The seven day infection rate for Telford and Wrekin is 37 confirmed cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 of the population
  • For West Midlands it is 62 confirmed cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 of the population
  • For England it is 58 confirmed cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 of the population

The number of cases has more than doubled in the last two weeks.

This is the highest total cases we have had since community testing began at the end of May.

Of those people tested more are being found to be positive.
