Longdon is back on the buses!
Report from a very excited Cllr Sue Hodgskin!
Telford-on-Demand has extended their service to cover Longdon-Upon-Tern. It’s part of a pilot project to try and bring public transport back to areas of Telford & Wrekin that don’t have a regular bus service.
The service is available 8am- 5.30pm Monday to Friday and is app-based (Travel Telford on Demand). The journey is booked online, and you choose the time you want to travel. The service then gives you a 30-minute pick-up window and then nearer the time confirms the exact time the bus will arrive. Pick-ups in Longdon-Upon-Tern are at the Tayleur and the war memorial layby (near Millers Row).
Currently the bus does drop-offs at the Princess Royal Hospital and Telford College as well as the town centre and Ironbridge. However, it is a pilot project and maybe extended in the future, depending on local demand. Journeys are £2 or less, but I was able to use my concessionary bus pass so travelled for free!
