Lorry activity in the village
After a report this morning of a lorry coming through the village at 7.15, I visited the Countryside development. I spoke to Terry, the gateman and Steve who is Site Manager for ground works. They had been on site since 7.20 and both confirmed that the first lorry on to the site was at 8.00 pm this morning. All hauliers have been told that, if they do not arrive on site from the Charing direction, they will be turned around and told to come back the next day. They also confirmed that they would take immediate action against any haulier breaking these rules. Also, they have not had any pipes delivered to the site, so the lorry that got stuck at Beult Meadow was not one of theirs. It is therefore vital, that anything that can identify a lorry trying to come through the village is noted down :- name of company, colour, registration number and the time and reported back to the Council so we can speak to the appropriate company. Lorry Watch was set up for a reason and long before Countryside came along.
