Lower Slaughter Parish Council Vacancy by co-option - applications by 14th May (the next Full Council meeting is Monday 18th May)
Lower Slaughter Parish Council is looking to co-opt a Parish Councillor following the resignation of Ann Classen. Cotswold District Council confirmed on 22nd April 2026 that fewer than 10 requests were received for an election, so the Parish Council will now fill the vacancy by co-option.
How to Apply
Residents who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply in writing, including a short personal statement by Wednesday 14th May 2026.

Eligibility
Applicants must be:
* A British, Commonwealth, or EU citizen
* Be 18 or over
* Registered to vote in your parish
You cannot stand if you:
* Are subject to bankruptcy restrictions order
* Hold a restricted post at another authority
* Have received a prison sentence of 3+ months (included suspended) within the last 5 years
* Have been found guilty of corrupt or illegal practices by an election court
Co-option Meeting
The co-option meeting will take place at the Full Council on Monday 18th May 2026 at 6.00pm at the Village Hall. Applicants must attend and have the opportunity to speak to the Parish Council.
