Luke Murphy MP visits Shed
Luke Murphy, Basingstoke's Member of Parliament, visited our Oakley Men's Shed on Thursday 5 November with Jo his assistant. He chatted with Shed members, discussing what they thought of the Shed and how it helped them cope with life's pressures. Luke also offered his help with our plans for the future of the Oakley Shed. As he left he was given a PPE bag as all members are and a coffee mug - an essential part of Men's Shed kit. He commented that he may well find the ear defeenders useful during the weekly Prime Minister's Question Time!
Luke commented on his website
I was delighted to drop in at Oakley Men’s Shed, meet the members and see the fantastic things they’ve been making.
The Shed gives people a welcoming space to come together, share practical skills and learn from each other, turning donated wood and materials into something new. Working on projects together or chatting over a cup of tea, members build friendships and support one another.
It’s brilliant to see a project in our community bringing people together while putting their skills and creativity to such good use!
