M3 Junction 9 and A34 Road Closures – July to September 2026

Please be aware of a series of overnight, weekend and long-term road closures around M3 Junction 9, continuing into September 2026.

Overnight Closures

M3 northbound, Junction 10 to Junction 9
Closed from 8pm to 6am on:

• Thursday 23 July to Thursday 30 July
• Tuesday 4 August to Tuesday 11 August
• Weekends are excluded

Signed diversions will be in place.

M3 Junction 9 roundabout
Sections of the roundabout between the A34 northbound and southbound will be closed from 8pm to 6am on:

• Monday 20 July to Saturday 25 July
• Tuesday 4 August to Saturday 8 August

This is to allow changes to the traffic-management layout.

M3 southbound, Junction 8 to Junction 9

• Thursday 30 July, from 8pm to 6am
• Monday 3 August, from 8pm to 6am

Drivers are advised to switch off their satnav and follow the signed diversion route.

M3 northbound, Junction 10 to Junction 8

• Monday 3 August, from 8pm to 6am

This closure is required for vehicle-restraint and earthworks.

Long-term Closure

M3 Junction 9 northbound entry slip road

The northbound entry slip road at Junction 9 will close at 9pm on Friday 31 July 2026 and remain closed until winter 2027.

During this period, there will be no access to the M3 northbound from the Junction 9 roundabout. A signed long-term diversion will be in place.

Different diversion routes will apply during the full weekend closures listed below.

Full Weekend Closures

The following roads and slip roads will be closed during three full weekends:

• A34 southbound from Bullington Cross
• A34 northbound towards Three Maids Hill
• A33 northbound
• Easton Lane in both directions at Easton Lane Roundabout
• A272 in both directions from the Spitfire Roundabout at the A31
• M3 Junction 9 northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roads

Closure dates and times:

• 9pm Friday 31 July to 6am Monday 3 August
• 9pm Friday 21 August to 6am Monday 24 August
• 9pm Friday 11 September to 6am Monday 14 September

Drivers should allow additional time, follow signed diversion routes and avoid relying on satnav where instructed.
