Maidstone Borough Council Notification of Withdrawl of the emerging Gypsy, Traveller and Showpeople Development Plan Document
Notification to those bodies set out under Regulation 27(b) The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012
In accordance with Section 22(1) Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and Regulation 27(a) Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, Maidstone Borough Council hereby gives notice that it has withdrawn the emerging Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling Showpeople Development Plan Document of which a Regulation 18 version underwent public consultation between 27 November 2025 and 11 January 2026.
The resolution to withdraw the emerging Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling Showpeople Development Plan Document was made at a meeting of Full Council held on the 1 July 2026. The resolution to withdraw was made under the provisions of Section 22 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, which states that a local planning authority may withdraw a local development document at any time before its adoption.
The Withdrawal Statement is available to view on the Council’s website and will be in the borough’s public libraries and main Council offices, King Street, during normal working hours.
