CO-OPTION OF A COUNCILLOR FOR CLIVE PARISH COUNCIL - DEADLINE 10.03.2024

Do you have, or could you make a bit of regular time to help our Parish Council and the local community? We meet once a month (except Aug and Dec) to discuss what’s happening, what we can do, and then go and do what we can.

We currently have one vacant seat that can be filled by co-option, and need a range of Councillors of all ages, backgrounds, and experience to join our friendly team - all you really need is a desire to make a positive difference in Clive parish.

Some of the things your Parish Council does

  • Supported the village hall renovations through taking out a loan (with community backing)
  • Support local organisations with donations e.g. Clive & Grinshill newsletter, Renshaw's Field Association
  • Installed vehicle activated speed signs and liaise with the police about speeding
  • Organised free community training for defibrillators and CPR
  • Sponsored a Let's Talk Falls event to prevent falls in the community
  • Helping with wildflower verges in the parish
  • Consider and respond to planning applications and planning consultations
  • Liaise with and/or lobby Shropshire Council on matters such as highways, trees, public transport etc.

APPLICATION DEADLINE 9PM SUN 10th MARCH 2024

More information, including application forms, and a guide to being a good Councillor, is available on the Councillors page of the website. If you would like to have an informal chat with anyone about what being a councillor involves, please contact any of your local councillors.

If you have any questions about whether you meet the eligibility criteria for being a councillor (details in the application form), please contact the Council clerk.
